Overview

Mining and minerals processing demand components that survive abrasive media, thermal shock, and constant vibration. Pearson Manufacturing supports these programs with a hybrid fulfillment model — routing work to the best-fit path (in-house or via vetted Canadian partners) while keeping QA, documentation, and communication under one roof.

Capabilities We Provide Access To

  • Heavy-duty CNC turning & vertical turning (long shafts, large OD hubs)
  • Horizontal/vertical boring for housings, bases, and valve bodies
  • Wear plate cutting/forming, chute & frame fabrications
  • Hardfacing overlays (MIG/flux-core), chromium carbide wear plate fit-up
  • Precision drilling/tapping, bolt-circle layout, keyways & fits
  • Sub-assembly: bearings, bushings, seals; torque specs & test fit
  • Abrasive blasting, industrial coatings, and preservation packaging
  • NDT (UT/MT/PT), hardness mapping, and dimensional inspection

DFM & Wear Tips

  • Specify wear allowance and target hardness (HRC/HBW) for overlays/liners; note CTQ surfaces separately.
  • Standardize fasteners and bolt circles across families to reduce downtime and inventory.
  • Use replaceable liner kits (segmenting) instead of monolithic plates to simplify swaps.
  • Call out weld-bead keep-outs and liner clearances; avoid coating on machined fits/threads.
  • Prefer generous radii in high-wear flow paths to reduce turbulence and undercutting.
  • Include handling points and lift lugs with required capacities in the model/drawing.

We’ll review your model/drawing, wear targets, and coating/NDT needs, then confirm achievable specs and the right routing (in-house or partner) before kickoff.

Why Partner with Pearson?

Mining FAQs

Do you machine AR and HARDOX-grade steels?

Yes. We routinely process AR400/500 and HARDOX grades, and can recommend overlays or liner kits based on your wear profile.

Can you refurbish or reline worn components?

Absolutely. We can build a rebuild plan, hardface or reline, and restore fits with inspection data to verify.

What size/weight can you handle?

We support large/long components via in-house and partner capacity. Share overall envelope and weight to select the right routing.

Which overlays and liners do you support?

Chromium carbide overlays (CCO), hardfacing wires, ceramic tiles, UHMW/HDPE liners, and manganese steels — chosen to match abrasion/impact conditions.

How should I scope my RFQ?

Include CAD + PDF with weld symbols/GD&T, materials, wear targets (hardness/overlay), coating, NDT, sizes/weights, and schedule. Start your mining quote — include materials, wear targets, overlay/liner choices, NDT, sizes/weights, and schedule.

Ready for Precision Mining Parts?

Send your drawings, specs, or worn components — we’ll route to the right process path and return a fast, rugged rebuild or production plan.
