Overview
Oil & gas operations demand rugged, traceable components built for pressure, temperature, and corrosive media. Pearson Manufacturing supports these builds with large-part machining, welding, cladding coordination, and certified testing — fulfilled either at our Ontario facility or through trusted Canadian partners. We coordinate documentation and logistics under one QA umbrella so you can keep projects moving safely and on time.

Quick Specs
Workstream | Best For | Speed | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Prototype / MRO | Adapters, spares, repair parts | Fast | Reverse-engineer support; form/fit/function priority |
Pressure Components | Valve bodies, trims, pump housings | Medium | Material & test certs; sour-service options |
Flanges & Headers | Large OD, bolt patterns, RTJ faces | Medium | Controlled facing; witness marks & ID |
Exchanger Hardware | Tube sheets, baffles, covers | Medium | Flatness & hole quality; bundle fit-up |
Capabilities We Provide Access To
- Large-part CNC turning & milling; vertical turning (by routing) for large OD flanges and housings
- Boring, deep drilling, precision tapping; controlled bolt-circle patterns & RTJ/O-ring grooves
- Robotic & manual weld fabrication; stress-relief; machining after weld to restore critical faces
- Hardfacing, cladding, and HVOF coating coordination for wear and corrosion resistance (by routing)
- Tube-sheet drilling, deburring, and exchanger end-forming coordination
- Inspection & test packages: CMM/laser reports, PMI, hardness, MT/PT/UT, hydro/pneumatic test records
- Traceable documentation and part marking/ID per project requirements
DFM & Standards Tips
- Specify pressure class, temperature range, and medium (H₂S/CO₂/brine) early; note any sour-service requirements (e.g., NACE MR0175).
- Call out gasket type (raised face, RTJ R/X/BX) and finish requirements; define serration pitch/height or RTJ groove standard.
- Include corrosion allowance on wall/face thicknesses where applicable; avoid “max stock removal” ambiguity.
- Standardize threads (ASME/ISO) and prefer UNC/UNF families or API threads where relevant; minimize mixed standards.
- For weldments or cladded surfaces, add machining stock to critical faces so final machining removes distortion/overlay.
- Define test plan (hydro/pneumatic), pressures, hold time, and acceptance criteria; identify witness/hold points.
We’ll review your model/drawing, materials, coatings, and test plan, then confirm achievable tolerances and the right routing (in-house or partner) before kickoff.

Oil & Gas FAQs
Is everything manufactured in-house?
Select components are produced at our Ontario facility; others are fulfilled through vetted Canadian partners. We coordinate quoting, QA, testing, and logistics end-to-end.
Can you meet API/ASME/NACE requirements?
Yes — we align builds to your specified standards (e.g., ASME B16.5, API 6A/6D, NACE MR0175) via compliant routing and documentation as required.
What tolerances are realistic on large energy parts?
Baseline: machined metals ±0.001–0.003″ on critical features; welded/large features ±0.005–0.015″ depending on size and process. Tighter limits may be achievable after engineering review.
Do you provide pressure testing and NDT?
We can coordinate hydro/pneumatic tests per your spec and provide PMI, hardness, and NDT (MT/PT/UT) with records.
How should I scope my RFQ?
Share CAD + PDF with GD&T, pressure class/medium, gasket type, material/coatings, test plan (pressure/hold/criteria), documentation list, quantities, and schedule. Start your oil & gas quote — include pressure class, medium, gasket type, test plan, documentation list, and schedule.
