Our Delrin Capabilities

Our capabilities — fulfilled in-house or through certified local partners — include:

  • CNC Milling: pocketing, profiling & surfacing of Delrin sheets & blocks
  • Manual Machining: custom trimming, fitting & precision post-processing
  • Turning: high-precision bushings, spacers & bearing inserts
  • Drilling & Tapping: burr-free holes & threads without cracking
  • Slotting & Boring: keyed features & through-holes for mechanical systems
  • Prototyping: one-off Delrin parts for testing, validation & R&D

Benefits of Delrin

  • Excellent dimensional stability & low moisture absorption
  • High stiffness & strength for precision mechanical parts
  • Low friction & wear resistance for moving assemblies
  • Chemical resistance in harsh environments
  • Easy to machine with smooth, burr-free finishes

Our Equipment

Equipment listed below is used in-house or by our qualified Canadian partners:

  • 3- and 4-axis CNC milling centers with plastic-specific tooling
  • Manual knee mills & turret lathes for low-volume work
  • Precision drill presses & tapping rigs with soft-material chucks
  • Boring bars & reaming tools optimized for acetal
  • Air-blast chip control for clean machining
  • Buffing & polishing stations for final finishing

Supported Delrin / Acetal Materials

  • Delrin® (POM-H): unfilled acetal homopolymer for general use (natural or black)
  • Acetal Copolymer (POM-C): improved chemical/hydrolysis resistance vs. POM-H
  • Delrin® AF: PTFE-filled homopolymer for lower friction & wear
  • Other filled/acetal blends available on request

Typical Applications

  • Gears, pulleys & sprockets for mechanical drives
  • Precision bushings, spacers & wear rings
  • Insulating fasteners & non-metallic housings
  • Structural covers, enclosures & fixtures
  • Custom workholding components & jigs

Delrin FAQ

What tolerances can you hold on Delrin parts?

We routinely hold ±0.002″ (±0.05 mm) and can achieve ±0.001″ (±0.025 mm) on critical features with proper fixturing and process control.

Do you offer post-machining finishing?

Yes—we provide deburring, chamfering, polishing, and light buffing to ensure smooth, burr-free edges.

Can you join or assemble Delrin components?

We offer adhesive bonding and ultrasonic welding preparation for Delrin assemblies, as well as mechanical fastening prep.

What size parts can you handle?

Typical envelopes accommodate Delrin blocks and rods up to ~24″ length and ~12″ diameter, depending on setup.

Is this manufactured in-house?

Some Delrin components are machined in-house, while others are produced through our trusted Canadian supplier network. We oversee sourcing, QA, and logistics for consistency.
