Overview

Renewable energy systems demand corrosion-resistant, precision-built components that perform for years in harsh environments. Pearson Manufacturing supports these programs with large-format machining, structural fabrication, coatings, and assembly — fulfilled either at our Ontario facility or through trusted Canadian partners. We coordinate documentation, inspection, and logistics under one QA umbrella so you can execute wind, solar, hydro, and storage projects with confidence.

Capabilities We Provide Access To

  • CNC machining of turbine hubs, couplers, bearing housings, and shafts
  • Precision drilling, tapping, and boring for tracker arms and torque tubes
  • Large-format structural fabrication and robotic/manual welding
  • Finish machining after weld for critical faces and hole patterns
  • Hydro turbine casting coordination and finish machining (by routing)
  • Battery enclosure/racking fabrication with sealing and gasketing
  • Corrosion-resistant coating and surface prep, masking, and edge sealing
  • Inspection packages: CMM/laser scan, coating thickness, torque/fit records

DFM & Standards Tips

  • Design for coating: add drain/vent holes for hot-dip galvanizing; specify masking on ground/bearing faces.
  • Avoid galvanic couples (e.g., SS fasteners on Al) or specify isolation (washers, coatings).
  • Standardize hole sizes/slots for anchor and tracker interfaces; define tolerances on bolt-circle patterns.
  • Call out weld categories and access for NDT; include post-weld machining allowance on critical faces.
  • For outdoor enclosures, specify gasket groove geometry and target IP/ingress protection level.
  • Define corrosion category/environment (e.g., coastal, industrial) to select coating system and thickness.

We’ll review your model/drawing, environment/coating system, weld/test plan, and documentation list, then confirm achievable tolerances and the right routing (in-house or partner) before kickoff.

Why Partner with Pearson?

Renewable Energy FAQs

Do you manufacture everything in-house?

Select components are produced at our Ontario facility; others are fulfilled through vetted Canadian partners. We coordinate quoting, QA, coatings, and logistics end-to-end.

Do you work with startups or pilot programs?

Yes — we regularly support clean-tech pilots with prototypes, proof-of-concept builds, and scale-up planning.

Which coatings are available for outdoor use?

Powder coat, anodize, e-coat, galvanizing, and zinc-rich systems — with masking/edge protection and thickness verification per your spec.

What tolerances are realistic on large renewable parts?

Baseline: machined metals ±0.001–0.003″ on critical features; large welded features ±0.005–0.015″ depending on size/process. Tighter limits may be achievable after engineering review.

How should I scope my RFQ?

Share CAD + PDF with GD&T, environment/corrosion category, coating system & color, weld/test plan, documentation list, quantities, and schedule. Start your renewable energy quote — include environment/coating system, weld/test plan, documentation list, and your schedule.
