Overview
Pearson Manufacturing delivers tailored machining for one‑offs, reverse‑engineered replacements, and rapid prototypes. Some projects are completed at our Ontario facility, while others are fulfilled through trusted Canadian machining partners. We coordinate quoting, routing, and QA end‑to‑end so you can focus on design and deadlines.
⚠️ Hybrid fulfillment: projects may be routed in‑house or through partners based on geometry, timing, and production scale.

Quick Specs
Engagement | Best For | Speed | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
One‑Off | Unique parts, legacy replacements | Fast | Minimal setup; ideal for specialty/repair items |
Prototype | Fit/functional iterations & prove‑outs | Fast | Flexible routing + DFM/assembly feedback |
Pilot/Bridge | Short runs before production tooling | Medium | Repeatable process, basic fixturing & QA |
Repair/Rework | Damaged threads/bores, feature updates | Fast | Best with a sample or marked‑up drawing |
Custom Jobs Capabilities
- One‑off part production from drawing, CAD, sketch, or sample
- Reverse engineering: manual metrology or 3D scan → CAD → drawing approval
- Prototype machining (lathe, mill, mill‑turn) and light assembly
- Custom fixtures, jigs, gauges, and fit‑check tooling
- High‑mix, low‑volume runs with in‑process gauging for repeatability
- Threading, grooving, boring, pocketing, and complex features
- Coordinated finishing (anodize, passivation, black oxide) & part marking
- Inspection deliverables on request: dimensional report, FAIR/FAI, CoC, material certs

Supported Materials
We machine a wide range of metals and plastics — in‑house or via Canadian partners:
- Aluminum: 6061‑T6, 7075‑T6
- Stainless: 303, 304, 316/316L, 17‑4 PH
- Carbon & alloy steels: 1018, 1045, 4140/4140HT
- Tool steels (O1, A2, D2), pre‑hard/HT by request
- Brass & copper alloys
- Plastics: Acetal (Delrin/POM), Nylon, PTFE, UHMW, ABS
- Titanium & specialty alloys (feasibility review)
Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
- Share STEP/IGES + PDF with critical datums, tolerances, threads, and finishes. Photos with a ruler help when no drawing exists.
- Call out tight tolerances only where function requires; keep non‑critical features at commercial tolerances to reduce cost.
- Favor standard drill sizes, radii, and thread series (UNC/UNF/metric). Add reliefs/undercuts for internal threads as needed.
- For rework/repairs, mark changes directly on the photo/PDF and include any mating parts for fit‑checks.
- If sending a sample for reverse engineering, protect precision faces in transit; note any wear so we model to the nominal spec.
We’ll review your inputs and confirm achievable specs with the fastest viable routing before kickoff.

Custom Machining FAQs
What do you need to quote my custom job quickly?
Upload STEP/IGES (or DWG/DXF) and a PDF with critical dims/tolerances, material, quantity, and any finish. If you only have a sketch or sample, send photos with a ruler for scale.
Can you sign an NDA before I share files?
Yes—mutual NDAs are standard. Upload your NDA during RFQ or request our template.
Do you take rush jobs?
Often. Add the required date to your RFQ; we will propose the fastest viable routing and shipping.
Can you reverse engineer from a broken part with no drawing?
Yes. We can measure or scan the sample, build CAD, and create a drawing for your approval before machining.
Do you provide inspection reports or FAIs?
Yes. Dimensional reports, FAIR/FAI, material certs, and CoC are available by request.
Ready to Bring Your Idea to Life?
Share drawings or photos of your sample to get DFM feedback, lead time, and a formal quote.
