Overview

Pearson Manufacturing supports finishing and light mechanical assembly through a hybrid fulfillment model. Some processes are completed at our Ontario facility, while others are coordinated through vetted Canadian partners. Whether you’re adding a surface treatment, prepping for display, or shipping a kitted set — we close the loop from machining to packaging with QA oversight at every step.

⚠️ Hybrid fulfillment: projects may be routed in-house or through partners based on finish, geometry, timing, and volume.

Anodize Type IIColour/corrosion protection≈ 5–25 µmGrowth affects fit; mask critical bores/threads
Anodize Type III (Hardcoat)Wear & abrasion resistance≈ 25–50 µm+Thicker/darker; greater growth; tighter control needed

Finishing & Assembly Capabilities

  • Anodizing (Type II clear/black & dyed) and hard-coat (Type III) coordination
  • Chromate conversion (chem-film) per MIL-DTL-5541; paint/powder pre-treat
  • Powder coating in standard or custom colours (RAL/Pantone match by review)
  • Part deburring, edge finishing, bead blasting, and hand polishing
  • Graphic application: silk screening, pad printing, laser engraving/etch
  • Hardware install: PEM/clinching, studs, Helicoils/inserts; light sub-assembly
  • Component kitting, labeling/serialization, and protective packaging
  • Inspection packages on request (dimensional report, FAIR/FAI, CoC, material certs)

Design for Manufacturability (DFM)

  • Call out finish type + code clearly (e.g., “Anodize Type II clear”, “MIL-DTL-5541 Class 3 clear”, “RAL 9005 powder”).
  • Account for coating growth on tight fits: consider mask, ream after coat, or design pre-coat allowances per feature.
  • Specify masking for threads, grounding pads, critical bores, and cosmetic faces; provide a marked PDF for clarity.
  • If colour-critical, provide a chip/Pantone/RAL reference and note gloss/sheen; confirm batch/lot expectations.
  • Choose marking method by geometry & durability: laser for permanency/contrast, pad/screen for bold legends.
  • For PEM/Helicoils, state hardware spec, orientation, torque or pull-out requirements; note install after-finish when needed.
  • Add carton/kitting instructions (bag per station, barcode/QR, ESD/foam) so parts arrive line-ready.

We’ll review your drawing/CAD and confirm achievable specs and masking with the fastest viable routing (in-house or partner) before kickoff.

Common Applications

  • Finished aluminum parts with clear/black anodize (Type II) or hard-coat (Type III)
  • Bracket and frame assemblies with press-fit PEM hardware
  • Colour-coded mechanical kits for field service or production cells
  • Screened/printed control panels, bezels, fronts, and enclosures

Finishing & Assembly FAQs

How do I get a fast finishing & assembly quote?

Upload your STEP and PDF, finish callouts (e.g., Type II clear anodize or RAL code for powder), quantities, and target date. We’ll route in-house or via trusted Canadian partners and reply quickly.

Start your quote →Include finish codes (e.g., Type II clear, RAL 9005), quantities, and required date.
Do you perform finishing in-house or through partners?

Both. Prep and light processes can be in-house; anodize, powder, and specialty treatments are coordinated through vetted Canadian finishers under Pearson QA and a single PO.

Can you colour-match or hit a specific sheen?

Yes — provide a chip/sample or RAL/Pantone reference. We’ll confirm achievable gloss/sheen and provide drawdowns as needed.

What assembly services can you handle?

PEM hardware, Helicoils/inserts, light mechanical fit-ups, torque specs, and sub-kitting with labels/part IDs. Inspection and CoC/FAI available on request.

Can you manage kitting, labelling, and staggered deliveries?

Absolutely. We can bag/box by station or site, apply barcodes/QR, and schedule partials to meet your build plan.

Do you sign NDAs and support RoHS/REACH?

We regularly execute NDAs. RoHS/REACH-compatible materials and certs are available — tell us your compliance needs on the RFQ.
